The Berkshire Experience

The information below is designed to simplify your visit to this fine, traditional Members' Golf Club. You will be guaranteed a friendly welcome, an excellent experience of a classic wooded heathland course and fine classic carvery dining for which the Club is renowned.

Reception Arrangements

On arrival at the Club visitors are requested to report to the Professional Shop to sign in as a visitor and liaise with the Caddiemaster to confirm the course to be played and tee-off time.

Payment

The Club reserves the right to cancel a booking and a full refund will be made in this instance. Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to a visitor's booking to receive a full refund.

Handicap Restrictions

Visitors will be required to have a playing ability as follows:

Gentlemen - 18 ♦ Ladies - 24

The Berkshire courses are not suitable for the novice golfer or beginners.

Dress Code

The Berkshire expects visitors to wear suitable attire while playing golf and in the Clubhouse. Tailored shorts with suitable golf socks may be worn, however, in keeping with the traditions of The Berkshire, long golf socks are preferred.

All visitors wishing to take lunch in the Main Dining room are required to wear a jacket and tie.

Catering

The Club prides itself on providing an outstanding carvery lunch Tuesdays to Fridays between 12 noon and 14:30. The clubhouse opens for breakfast at 07:15 and a snack bar operates throughout the day offering a wide range of light meals. Afternoon Tea is available until 18:00.

Caddies/Carts/Trolleys

Visitors wishing to make use of a caddie should, having confirmed their booking, ring the caddiemaster on 01344 622627. Golf carts and electric trolleys are available through the Professional shop on 01344 622351.
