72 Hole Amateur Scratch Medal Competition

(HANDICAP LIMIT : Scratch)

Conditions of Competition
  1. Saturday 19 June: 36 Holes to be played over the Red & Blue Courses, the forty leading scores, and all tying for 40th place to qualify for the final 36 Holes on Sunday 20 June.  The starting times for Sunday 20 June will be allotted according to Saturday’s qualifying scores, with the leaders starting last.
  2. Competitors will be required to play with 1.68 golf balls on the latest R&A Golf Club approved list.
  3. Handicap (national) limited to Scratch or under which must be certified by your Club Secretary.
  4. Entries will be limited to 128. In the event of applications exceeding this number, entry for the higher handicap competitor    will be decided by ballot or by selection by the English Golf Union.  This will be done immediately after the closing date.  All unsuccessful applicants will be informed without delay and entrance fee refunded. The decision of the Committee as to the acceptance or refusal of any entry shall be final.
  5. Entry Fee:  £50.00 (exclusive of meals).  The entry fee must be forwarded with the entry form irrespective of whether playing in the British Amateur Championship or not.  Cheques to be made payable to The Berkshire Golf Club and must be received by Saturday 29 May 2010.  Please note that there will be no refund of entry fee if you withdraw from the competition within 72 hours of the competition. This does not apply to those golfers reaching the final stages of the British Amateur Championship, who will automatically have their entry fee refunded.  Once the draw has been done, it will be emailed out to all competitors.  Please fill in your email address in the form below.
  6. Courtesy practice rounds, for players only, are available on Friday 18 June 2010.  A green fee of £40 will be charged for those wishing to play with competitors on the practice day.  Please report to the Caddie Master on arrival.  Competitors requiring caddies are asked to telephone the Caddie Master (01344 622627).   Please note that in the event of the cancellation of a caddie, payment will still be charged, unless the caddie can be readily allocated to another competitor.
  7. The Berkshire Trophy Challenge Cup to be held for one year by the competitor returning the lowest scratch score over 72 holes. A prize will be awarded to the winner and runner up and prize vouchers will also be awarded to the leading twelve players.
